VERSION 1.0.9 GM

We have this Photoshop layer that we would like to use with ImageLayer. The layer is made with layer effects. The current version of ImageLayer doesn't support all the fancy features of layer effects. We need to render them to a bitmap if we want to use it with ImageLayer. Below are 3 easy steps explaining how to do this.

Step 1:

Duplicate the layer with effects.

Step 2:

Create a new layer just between the 2 layers. Now select the duplicated layer and do Merge Down (in the Layer Menu) or use the Command-E shortcut.

Step 3:

You have now created a rendered version of your effect layer. Rename the resulting layer the same name as the original layer. Now make the original layer  invisible, so it will be ignored by the iShell ImageLayer plugin. Or, better yet, add [IGNORE] to the name of the Layer so ImageLayer will ignore this layer during importing. It is still kept in the Photoshop file in case you wish to make changes later.
